At BuySell.net.au, we are committed to your complete satisfaction. If you are not fully happy with your purchase, we offer a straightforward returns process backed by your statutory rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
This policy applies to all purchases made on buysell.net.au and outlines the conditions, procedures, timeframes, and your rights in relation to returns, refunds, and exchanges. This policy is designed to satisfy the requirements of the Google Merchant Center Return Policy.
Regardless of the terms of this policy, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply and cannot be excluded or limited by us.
To qualify for a return under our standard policy, all of the following conditions must be met:
- ✔Within 30 days of the delivery date — returns requested after this period will not be accepted under our standard policy (your ACL rights remain unaffected).
- ✔Unused and in original condition — items must be unworn, unwashed, and unaltered, with all original tags, accessories, and instructions intact.
- ✔Original or equivalent packaging — the item must be returned in its original packaging or suitably protected packaging to prevent damage in transit.
- ✔Proof of purchase provided — a valid receipt, order confirmation email, or order number must accompany the return request.
Items not eligible for return under our standard policy:
- ✖Personalised, custom-made, or specially ordered items — unless faulty or not as described.
- ✖Perishable goods including food, consumables, and certain cosmetics — unless faulty.
- ✖Items marked as final sale or clearance at the time of purchase — unless faulty or misdescribed.
- ✖Opened hygiene-sensitive items such as undergarments, earrings, or personal care products — unless faulty.
The above exclusions do not override your rights under the ACL. If an item is faulty, unsafe, or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy regardless of its category or sale status.
Please follow the steps below to initiate a return. Do not send items back without first contacting us, as unauthorised returns may not be processed.
Email support@buysell.net.au with your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return. Include photos if the item is damaged or faulty.
We will review your request and issue a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) number along with return instructions. Returns without an RMA number may not be accepted.
Securely pack the item in its original or protective packaging. Clearly write the RMA number on the outside of the parcel and ship it to our returns address below.
Once we receive your return, we will inspect the item and notify you of the outcome within 2 business days. Approved refunds or replacements are processed promptly.

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will notify you by email of the outcome. If approved, your refund will be processed as follows:
- ✔ Purchase price of the item
- ✔ Original shipping (if item faulty/incorrect)
- ✔ Return shipping (if fault is ours)
- ✖ Original shipping on change-of-mind returns
- ✖ Return postage on change-of-mind returns
- ✖ No restocking fee Applicable
Refund processing times of 5–7 business days are estimates once we have issued the refund from our end. Your bank or payment provider determines the final settlement timeframe. If your refund has not appeared after 10 business days, please contact us.
If your item arrives faulty, damaged in transit, or is not what you ordered, you are entitled to a remedy under both our policy and the Australian Consumer Law. We take these matters seriously and will act promptly to resolve them.
- ✔Report within reasonable time of delivery — email support@buysell.net.au with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the item and packaging.
- ✔We cover all return shipping costs for faulty, damaged, or incorrectly dispatched items. We will provide a prepaid return label or reimburse reasonable return postage.
- ✔Resolution options — depending on the nature of the fault and product availability, we will offer a full refund, replacement item, or repair at no cost to you.
Under the Australian Consumer Law, if a product has a major failure you have the right to choose between a refund, replacement, or repair. For minor failures, we may choose to repair or replace the item. We will always exercise these rights in good faith.
We do not offer direct product-for-product exchanges at this time. If you would like a different item, size, or colour, please follow the return process outlined in Section 2 and place a new order for your preferred product.
We recommend placing your new order promptly to avoid stock selling out while your return is being processed. If you have questions about stock availability, contact us before initiating the return.

We recommend using a tracked postal service for all returns. We cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit when using untracked postage.
We understand that sometimes a purchase simply isn't the right fit. While the Australian Consumer Law does not require retailers to accept change-of-mind returns, we do so as a courtesy to our customers, subject to the following conditions:
- ✔Return requested within 30 days of delivery.
- ✔Item is unused, in original condition, with all tags and packaging intact.
- ✔Proof of purchase is provided.
- ✖Customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
- ✖Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
No restocking fee of the item's purchase price will apply to change-of-mind returns.
For all return and refund enquiries, our customer service team is available Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM AEST Sat: 10 AM – 4 PM. We aim to respond to all enquiries within one business day.
When contacting us, please have your order number and reason for return ready to help us resolve your enquiry as quickly as possible.
We may update this Refund and Returns Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices, legal obligations, or regulatory requirements. All updates will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
